JEFF's SUMMARY of two (2) books:
Author: Birkle, Suitbertus, 1876-1926.
Title: A complete and practical method of the Solesmes plain chant
Publisher: New York, J.F. Wagner
IMPRIMATUR: 1904
COPYRIGHT: 1904
TRANSLATION: Lemaistre
(supposedly printed in 1904)
...It is the EXACT same book as:
Author: Birkle, Suitbertus, 1876-1926.
Title: The Vatican plain chant; a practical manual for teacher and student
Publisher: New York, J.F. Wagner
IMPRIMATUR: 1904
COPYRIGHT: 1904
TRANSLATION: Lemaistre
(supposedly printed in 1906)
....EXCEPT FOR THE TITLE!!!!
The one that is called "The Vatican plain chant: etc." says that it is a NEW AND REVISED EDITION. However, in this "new and revised edition" the Preface is missing. The Preface said (and I quote), "This method has nothing new to offer. It is based upon well-known Plain Chant hand-books by authorities such as DOM POTHIER, KEINLE, TINEL, WAGNER, HABERL, etc."
Again, This Preface is NOT printed in the one called "The Vatican Plain chant; etc." but it WAS printed in other (which, again, has the same year of copyright and imprimatur). However, in the INDEX of "The Vatican Plain chant; etc." it claims that the Preface is on page 7 ... but there ain't no Preface!!!

pages 1-194, 1*-156*, [1]-[210], 23 page index) ; 22 x 30 cm.
Ratisbonæ ; Romæ ; Neo Eboraci : Sumptibus Friderici Pustet,
JEFF's SUMMARY:
the entire PROPRIUM DE TEMPORE, and PROPRIUM SANCTORUM, but no KYRIALE published in 1900
I also have the 1890 edition of the ORGANUM COMITANS AD VESPERALE ROMANUM JUXTA CANTUM AUTHENTICUM published by Hanisch & Haberl in about 1890 and seems to contain “everything”
I also have the older 1880's version of the PROPRIUM DE TEMPORE and PRORPIUM SANCTORUM by Haberl and friends, which is very different than the 1900. Attached to the end is the 1880's version of the Witt KYRIALE.
The 1880's version of the Witt KYRIALE is slightly different than the 1874 version (I have that, too), and Witt explains this (in English) at the beginning of the 1880's version
Basically, there are many versions of all these books. Haberl was constantly changing and revising the Pustet Neo-Medicea, at least the correct way to notate/perform it.

I have the entire PROPRIUM DE TEMPORE.
I have the 2nd Partie, Cahier II of the PROPRIUM SANCTORUM
I have the 1905 KYRIALE.
Someone has vandalized the PROPRIUM DE TEMPORE (by changing the rhythm to Solesmes rhythm in pencil) on many pages, but it is still obvious what Peter Wagner's original intent was (Deo Gratias!)
