The POPE BENEDICT SINGERS is not yet fully formed. We are still recruiting!!

OUR MISSION is to LEARN, SING, ENJOY, and BRING TO LIFE
the ancient masterpieces of a capella sacred choral music.

(1) We will recruit our singers from the Corpus Christi area
      and meet together at least once each week to sing.
      YOUNG men and women are especially welcome.

(2) The emphasis will be on performing Renaissance music,
      but some Gregorian chant will also be included
      (since many Renaissance pieces require chant).

(3) The primary end of this group is to LEARN, SING,
      and ENJOY the music for its own sake.
      HOWEVER, there will also be performances (of course!).

THE PERFORMANCES will be of FOUR MAIN TYPES:

A. Pieces will be sung at Masses at the chapel of St. Helena of the True Cross of Jesus (7634 Wooldridge).

B. Pieces will be sung at public concerts (especially seasonal concerts, e.g. Christmas and Easter).

C. Pieces will be sung for studio and live recordings which we will create.

D. Pieces will be sung at other miscellaneous functions (private gatherings, weddings, and Christmas caroling are all possibilities).

The POPE BENEDICT SINGERS Chorale does NOT exist to make money,
although we will accept payment for certain functions (e.g. singing at weddings).
